Wild Turkey Habitat
Articles on wild turkey habitat can be read on the websites of the breeders, along with photo galleries of the birds.
Some people consider these birds to be too loud during the breeding season. Being very active, these creatures like to gobble and communicate with each other. If the owner allows the bird to walk free in the yard, the bird will become a devoted pet and will follow the owner. These birds should not be kept alone; a harem of several hens with one male is an ideal family for them.

Wild Turkey Habitat -
breeders, photo
It’s not easy to see these wary birds in their natural habitats. In early spring, adult males find an open place in woods, such as fields, pastures, shrubby growth, and even quiet roads for singing a mating song. They make loud calls to attract hens and keep an eye on the surroundings to spot danger in the right time. That’s why they choose areas that provide visibility. Throughout the year, these birds inhabit dense woods. They feed on everything they can find – seeds, nuts, fruits, worms, insects and lizards. Some populations migrate in winter to warmer areas. They are swift runners and fast flyers, able to reach the speed of about 88 km per hour.
