Turkeys
Domestic turkeys can be easily obtained from a breeder; many breeders deal with these birds.
Wild birds of this species are common throughout the USA. It’s difficult to see them, because they are wary and have a keen eyesight and hearing. Seeing these birds during their breeding season is a wonderful sight. Dominating males try to attract females by loud gobbling and strutting. They raise body feathers, fan the tail, and drop the wings alongside to the ground. A dominating male attracts five or more females; subdominant and young males are not allowed to breed.

Turkeys -
breeder, breeders
If you find a lost chick of this species, you’d better leave. The mother is surely near, but she is afraid to come closer when people are there. If you know that the baby is orphaned, you can take it with you. It is necessary to contact your local wildlife rehabilitation personnel or the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council. It is possible to keep the chick at home, if there is no good alternative. These species are very difficult to keep. Though wild-caught birds cannot be kept in captivity, a hand-raised chick will find it difficult to adapt to living in the wild.
