Wild Turkey's
Wild turkey's photo galleries or pictures should not be trusted much.
These birds breed in early spring. It’s very difficult to see a gobbling male, but it’s worth seeing. Males fan out their tail, lower their wings, throw back their head and utter loud calls attempting to attract females. Males’ feathers are black or brown, but colorful iridescence makes them very attractive. Hens are dull and not attractive, which makes them almost invisible in the grass. They build a nest on the ground and lay about 15 eggs. Males don’t participate in incubating the eggs and raising the young. The chicks hatch after 25 or 30 days. They are usually strong and able to feed themselves within 24 hours.

Wild Turkey's -
photo, pictures
These creatures originated from America. Europeans didn’t know about them till they arrived to Europe with Spanish conquistadors from South America. There exist 6 widely spread species of these creatures, but they look much alike and differ slightly in coloration and habitat. The birds feed on a variety of seeds, fruits, nuts and insects and can survive in a variety of climates. The bill and claws of these creatures are adapted to find food in tall grass.
