Chick Turkey Wild
Chick turkey wild photos can be found on the websites of their breeders.
Birds of this breed are very intelligent and quiet. They can be left alone for long and don't require much attention. Male birds may be very noisy during the breeding season; females are very protective for their nests and young and can attack humans, if they come close. These birds are kept mostly for their meat and eggs, but also for decorative purposes.

Chick Turkey Wild -
photos, breeders
Nowadays, these birds can be hunted in most parts of their range, though in the early 1900s, their entire population was as low as 30,000. Effective conservation program and introduction to other areas, made them common throughout their former range. Historically, these birds have inhabited the territory of both Americas since early times. Their fossils date back to the early Miocene. Some subspecies are known only from fossils, as they became extinct at the end of the ice age due to early human hunters and climate change. Several subspecies have survived and became the ancestors of the exotic-looking birds we see today. Chick turkey wild photos can be found on the websites of their breeders.
